systematic treatment.
We use

simply we can say that modern technologies help us to improve our way of
living. A ballpen is an example of this technology. Computers, laptops,
cellphones, and iPhones are the another few examples of modern technology - we
often called these examples as gadgets. Modern technology helps in improving
the field of sciences. To name a few, modern technology is widely used in the
field of Medicine, Physics, Chemistry, Astronomy, and many more.
The use of
technology make our work easier, faster and more convenient. It also improve
games so that children in present are more likely to get into it. We know that
during old age, games are much simpler and doesn’t require the use of power and
electricity like Chess and other outdoor activities. When we use technology, it
will always have a number advantages and disadvantages depending on how we use
these examples of modern technologies.
With the use of modern
technology, we gain advantages. The following are some advantages of using
modern technology:
•
Advanced
communication - communication via satellites using microwaves and
radiowaves with the use of gadgets like cellphones, computers etc.
•
Improved
housing and lifestyle - people can have a bigger house and much better
lifestyle because of technologies help them meet their needs.
•
High-quality
entertainment - technology improves the way of amusing people.
•
Educational
resources - We can study much better and easily find answers in our own
questions with the use of technology.
•
Faster travelling
- We can now travel in air via
airplanes, helicopter, and parachute because of these modern technologies.
• Health
industry - technology helps humans create apparatuses or machines that will
help them to treat, cure or determine the causes of an illness. An example is
the X-ray which was invented by William Roentgen.
• Efficiency
and productivity - technology improves machinery so that machines can
produce a massive amount of products more efficiently than handwork and much faster
in a short period of time.
As the usage of
modern technology has advantages, it also has disadvantages and these are:
• Loss of
job - by the use of technology, some of the
workers like typists whose work is done by typing statements on paper
using the old typewriters are more likely to lose their job because voice recorders
now exist.
•
Creation
of destructive weapons - due to the
advancement in Nuclear science, powerful nuclear weapons like atomic bombs are
invented and can cause tremendous amount of damages and deaths.
•
Cybercrimes
- online accounts can be hacked and hacking is no different to stealing and
invasion of privacy which is technically punishable by the law.
To sum up all these, we
can say that on one hand, modern technology is very helpful to mankind; on the
other hand, it can also be the opposite – can cause a lot of hazard and
destruction due to human greed. Modern technology is neither good or bad, it’s
how you use it.
